Michigan Avenue Bridge at Brookley Entrance to Close August 30th.

The Michigan Avenue bridge at the Brookley entrance will close for repair and to traffic beginning Monday, August 30th, 2010. It will remain closed for approximately 18 months, requiring all the traffic to and from the Brookley Complex to use alternate routes through the I-10 exits 22 (AL-163 S/Dauphin Island Parkway) and 24 (Broad St/Duval St).

While the portion of the bridge above the I-10 will remain open to traffic, it is the section between the I-10 east-bound exit ramp and the Broad St and Michigan Avenue intersection that will be closed due to the construction work.

All Brookley businesses and visitors are thus advised to use I-10 exits 22 and 24 to enter or exit Brookley. For directions, please see the attached map and the options listed below. Directions to Brookley using the alternate routes:

BROOKLEY VIA DAUPHIN ISLAND PARKWAY:
• Eastbound on Interstate 10, Exit 22 AL-163 South/Dauphin Island Parkway
• Westbound on Interstate 10, Exit 22B AL-163 South/Dauphin Island Parkway
• Go 0.6 Miles, Left at Gatotkoco Dr/Old Military Road
• Go 0.3 Miles, Left at Perimeter Road
• Go 1.2 Miles, OHC is on the Right.

BROOKLEY VIA DUVALL STREET – EASTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 10:
• Take Exit 24 Duval St. /Broad St.
• Go 0.3 Miles, Right at Duval St.
• Go 0.3 Miles, Right at Broad St.
• Go 1.3 Miles, Left on Michigan Avenue
• Go 0.1 Miles and turn Right. OHC is on the Left.

BROOKLEY VIA BROAD STREET – WESTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 10:
• Exit 24 Duval St. /Broad St.
• Go 0.3 Miles, Left on Broad St.
• Go 1.7 Miles, Left on Michigan Avenue
• Go 0.1 Miles and turn Right. OHC is on the Left.
